Captain's Message 2026
It is an honour and a privilege to be Lady Captain of the Cumbria Ladies County Golf Association for 2026 and I will do my utmost and very best for all our members throughout the year. I am looking forward to working alongside our new President Carole Story and
Vice-Captain Cherry Archer together with our hardworking Executive Committee, and those who will be representing CLCGA in 2026.
As we all leave 2025 our Centenary year behind us with wonderful golfing achievements and memories to treasure, we commence the next Centenary of our golfing life.
Our priority in 2026 will be when we head to Eaglescliffe in Durham for the Northern County Match Week between Monday 8th and Wednesday 10th June. This is the biggest and most prestigious event we play in 2026, you will see some fantastic team golf being played and it would be wonderful to see fellow Cumbrians, affectionally called the ‘orange army’, supporting our team as they represent CLCGA.
The One Day Team Trophy will be held at my home club of Appleby, where I guarantee you will all receive the warmest of welcomes.
The County Championships 2026 will be held at Kirkby Lonsdale over two weekends where we will crown our County and Girls Champions. This is a standout event for all lady golfers in Cumbria to take-part in, but also to come along and support. I am excited for the events and competitions we have lined up in the coming months. It’s always inspiring to see the talent and
camaraderie that our members bring to each event. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to County golf, I encourage you to
participate and make the most of the golfing opportunities available. The strength of our County team depends on the support and
involvement of everyone, and your enthusiasm plays a big role in making this a special golfing community.
I look forward to seeing you at our competitions and tournaments throughout the County in 2026.

Presidents Message 2026
It is an honour and a privilege to be County Lady President.
I am looking forward to working with County Captain Jill, Vice-Captain Cherry and all the executive committee in 2026.
We are blessed to live in the most beautiful part of the country. This makes it much more pleasurable to travel to clubs in our area and meet up with members/friends old and new at the many events that the county hold. Your entries and support to these events is very much appreciated.

Northern Counties Match Week in June is being held at Eaglescliffe Golf club hosted by Durham. It would be lovely to see Cumbrian supporters there. It really does give the team a boost to see familiar faces out on the course and if you have a bright orange top to wear even better. Your support is appreciated by both the competitors and executive. You will definitely witness some great golf.
Also our junior girls will be competing at the Junior Jamboree which this year is hosted by Yorkshire at Scarcroft Golf Club in August.
