Cumbria has had its most successful match week for over 20 years. Looking back on the records
Cumbria has never before won all its morning foursomes, and has achieved the most game wins, totalling 14, since 1987.
This is a very promising set of results, to take the Squad into 2010 when match week will be hosted by Cumbria at Carlisle Golf Club.
Your support will make all the difference.
Match Report: Monday - Lancashire A really tough start to the week. Although losing all the morning foursomes, the match results in the afternoon were a lot more promising, gaining two halves and a win against a very strong Lancashire team.
Match Report: Tuesday - Northumberland An excellent result, winning 7½ - 1½. A record breaking start to the day with Cumbria taking all the morning foursomes. The afternoon singles started well with Hollie Weatherburn leading the team, and taking the first singles, beating the Northumberland Champion 2/1.
Match Report: Wednesday - Yorkshire A tough match to follow the success of yesterday. Well done to Rebecca McIntyre, taking the only game on the day.
Match Report: Thursday - Durham The morning started with the successful pairing of Hester Wallace and Alyson Wood winning their foursomes. The afternoon singles resulted in 3½ - 2½, giving a final result of 5½ - 3½. Unfortunately the afternoon singles was marred by very slow play.
Match Report: Friday - Cheshire A very strong Cheshire team pulled out all the stops, and no games were won. It was an unfortunate end to a very positive week.
